To estimate the cost of a written translation yourself, follow these steps:
Calculating the translation cost for a document (text) in *.doc, *.rtf, *.docx format
-
Open the file.
-
Go to the “Tools” menu and select “Word Count”.
-
Look at the number in the “Characters (with spaces)” line.
- Divide this number by 1800.
- The final step: multiply the resulting number by the translation rate per page for the language you need. See Translation Rates.
Calculating the cost of translating a document (text) in *.ppt, *.pptx format
-
Open the file.
-
Go to the “File” menu and select “Properties”.
-
Navigate to the “Statistics” tab.
-
In the “Item” column, select “Words” to see the word count in the adjacent column.
- Multiply the word count by 8.
- Divide the resulting number by 1800.
- Finally, multiply the number obtained from the division by the translation rate per page for your required language. See Translation Cost for details.
If, in addition to translation, you require notarization or formatting services, please add the cost of these additional services to the translation cost you have calculated. This will give you the total cost of your order.
Please note
The above method for calculating translation costs does not apply to translations from or into any logographic language.
If your document is in another format (such as .pdf, .gif, .jpeg, .tif) and you are unable to calculate the translation cost on your own, feel free to contact the managers at “AventA” translation bureau for assistance. View Contacts.
